I've been inspired by the concept of Minecraft Forever Worlds and I'm craving the same sort of feel in Stardew Valley. As someone who has completed a number of perfection runs, only to abandon the farm as soon as I get there, I'm after a long-term farm that grows and evolves over time, and where perfection is not the main goal (though we will still be looking to achieve this!). I don’t think I’m the first to come up with the idea of having a “forever farm”, this is just something that excites me to play Stardew Valley, even after 2,500 hours!
To keep it fresh over time, I have split the farm into segments that I either need to "purchase" or complete some other sort of task for. Each segment will be home to its own challenge. I am also enforcing a rule that I must have each area fully decorated before I can move on to the next one.
Once I finish filling up the farm and eventually Ginger Island, there are plenty of off-farm locations to house further challenges as I'll be playing with mods, and likely adding more mods over time, so some examples of future challenge locations are places like Aurora Vineyard and Grampleton Fields. Housing them all in the same world means we can easily revisit and reminisce on the journeys we took together.
We’re starting with the Immersive Farm 2 Farm map split into sections (see here). To see more details about the challenges in progress or in planning, go to the Challenge List section. The first two challenges (section 0 and section 1) will need to be completed in that order. All further challenges might vary in order depending on what we’re feeling next! I haven’t come up with every single challenge that we’ll be doing on this save. If you have any suggestions, check out the Challenge List first to see if it’s coming up at some point, and if not, head to the forever-farm-challenge-suggestions channel in the Discord server!
